Ford GT Hot Wheels

Matthew DeBord/BI

I just got back from driving the $400,000 Ford GT supercar in Utah.

Since its debut at the 2015 Detroit auto show, the GT has been stoking desire. It also won the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans in its class, repeating the history of 1966 — 50 years to the day from Ford’s 1-2-3 win at the world’s most famous endurance race.

Ford will build 250 GTs per year over four years — 1,000 in total. You’re going to have to be extraordinarily resourceful if you want to own one of these spectacularly beautiful machines.

For everyone else, there’s a way to possess the car without spending as much as you might on a house.

You guessed it! There’s a Hot Wheels version!

It goes for less than $5.

And for what it’s worth, various other scale models of the GT are available, as is a very cool Lego mashup of the 1966 and 2016 cars for $30.
