The man who attacked the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester is about to be named

LONDON — The man who detonated a fatal bomb in the Manchester Arena on Monday night is set to be formally identified by Greater Manchester Police this afternoon.
The attacker, who Police believe acted alone, killed 22 and injured at least 59 more when he detonated an improvised bomb in the foyer of Manchester Arena, central Manchester, last night, where pop star Ariana Grande was performing.
The attacker died as a result of the attack.
Prime Minister Theresa May said in her speech that police believed they knew the identity of the attacker but would not be naming him yet.
Manchester’s Chief Constable Hopkins said in a statement earlier on Tuesday:
“We have been treating this as a terrorist incident and we believe that while the attack last night was conducted by one man, the priority is to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network.
“The attacker, I can confirm, died at the arena. We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device, which he detonated, causing this atrocity.
*”We would ask people not to speculate on his details or to share names. There is a complex and wide-ranging investigation under way.*
“Our priority is to work with the national counter-terrorist policing network and UK intelligence services to establish more details about the individual who carried out this attack.”
An unidentified 23-year-old man has also been arrested in south Manchester in connection with the attack.
