KLCI pares loss, broader market stays negative

KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): The FBM KLCI pared some of its losses at the midday break today, as regional markets turned positive but the broader sentiment at the local bourse remained negative.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was down 0.83 points to 1.766.25. The index had earlier dipped to its intra-morning low of 1,762.68.

Losers led gainers by 391 to 228, while 458 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 868.05 million shares, valued at RM612.45 million.
