Hauliers worry UEM Edgenta's proposal to upkeep PLUS highways will raise toll rates

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 29): Hauliers are concerned that UEM Edgenta Bhd's proposal to undertake the long-term maintenance of all PLUS Malaysia Bhd's highways for over RM20 billion could result in higher toll rates for road users.

In a statement, Association of Malaysian Hauliers president Nazari Akhbar said the group is "dismayed" by the proposal from UEM Edgenta to take on the long-term maintenance of all PLUS highways for the remaining two decades of the concession period.
