The World’s Most Expensive Beef Noodle Soup is in Taiwan and Costs $332 a Bowl
A shop in Taipei, Taiwan is serving beef noodle soup that’s being touted as the world’s most expensive, but its ingredients just might make it worth its extravagant price.
Founded in 1990 by Wang Tsung Yuan, Niu Ba Ba doesn’t serve your average noodle dish since the price for their noodles starts at a hefty 480 New Taiwan Dollars ($16).
While the noodle shop’s $16 classic Beef Father Noodle Soup is already pricey, it’s still far from their most expensive dish.
Dubbed the Presidential Beef Noodle Soup, the dish has been served for about 20 years and costs a whopping 10,000 New Taiwan Dollars ($332), a price tag that wasn’t finalized until 2007, Eric, Wang Tsung Yuan’s son, told CNN.
What makes these noodles ridiculously expensive is its top of the line ingredients, comprising of four types of premium beef cuts imported from the U.S. and Australia.
It’s not just the ingredients that justify the noodle’s expensive price, but also the shop’s meticulous preparation, which involves freezing the beef for three days, and cutting it into specific pieces to attain the perfect texture and scrumptious flavor.
Niu Ba Ba only uses the best beef cuts such as ribbon steak to fill the broth of the extravagant beef noodle soup.
Who interested in paying more than $300 for the “world’s best” beef noodle soup?
