LONDON (Oct 12): Sepang Aircraft Engineering becomes wholly-owned Airbus unit as part of strategy to expand service revenue, planemaker says in statement.

* Airbus purchased initial 40% stake in Kuala Lumpur-based maintenance co. in 2011

* Customers incl. AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Indigo, VietJet

* SAE has workforce of ~500 people; opened second hangar in Sept.

** First hangar accommodates 6 narrow-bodies/2 wide-bodies

** Second can take 2 narrow-bodies
