Elon Musk can help pick his replacement as chairman of Tesla — despite complaints he already has too much sway over its board

As part of his settlement agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk has to step down as Tesla's chairman. But he can remain on its board and vote his shares for new directors.
