The Quran does NOT say you should vote for a person simply because he is a Muslim or not. The Quran says you must support people or not support people based on whether they are oppressors or not, based on whether they are corrupt or not.
Corruption is certainly an oppression.
And a corrupt government leader is certainly an oppressive leader.
Altantuya was murdered in an intrigue over corruption.
Kevin Morais was also murdered in another intrigue also related to corruption.
[Quran 4:29] O you who believe, do not consume each others' properties illicitly - only mutually acceptable transactions are permitted. You shall not kill yourselves. Allah is Merciful towards you.
