Umur manusia 7,000 - 8,000 tahun - New Heights In "kangkung".

A few days back a wacko sent me an email saying that my blog was 'kedai kopi talk'.

Huh? At 62.1 million hits?

Then he went funny - he said I should sign up for classes under Professor Syed Naquib Alatas.

I suppose he knows how to cook kangkong too.

Well about the same time I received the following video clip from sdr N. Jusoh. Thank you sdra.

I only watched the video today afternoon.
I was shocked almost out of my skin.
It takes kangkong to a new level.

The video is about something said by "professor" Syed Naquib Alatas.

To be sure the video is actually part of a news report by Berita Harian.
So, ini bukan video saya buat sendiri tau.
Ini bukan saya cakap. Ini Berita Harian cakap.
So jangan marah saya tau. Ok??

Its best that you watch and listen to the video yourself.

My comments :

Umur manusia 7,000 - 8,000 tahun ??

Ok here I don't want to say too much.
Lets just ask Ustaz Google.
I searched Google for 'oldest archaeological sites'.
The following popped up:

No 5 was the Cave of Altamira in Spain. The cave paintings there are over 27,000 years old.

No. 3 is the Chauvet Cave in France with cave paintings that go back 34,000 years.

No. 2 oldest are the cave paintings at the Cave of El Castillo in Spain which go back 38,000 years.

The grand daddy of them all is the Theopetra Cave in Greece where the oldest human made structures and presence have been found. The oldest footprints of young children have been found in petrified ash - from 135,000 years ago. If you are interested to read more you can click here.

Ok not to be left out I checked out our own local pre-historic inhabitants. I found the Perak Man. We went to the same school.

Radiocarbon dating puts the Perak Man at 11,000 years old.

Gua Gunung Runtuh site where Perak Man was discovered.
Perak Man is oldest and most complete skeleton to be found in Southeast Asia. Radiocarbon dating has placed it as around 10,000-11,000 years old

Kota Tampan Paleolithic Site
Excavations in 1987-1990 revealed that Kota Tampan was a stone age workshop dating as early as 50,000 years ago. They discovered that there was a stone age community living in the surrounding Lake Cenderoh.

Conclusion :  Well the caves in Greece show human presence 135,000 years ago. Our Perak Man cave stories go back up to 50,000 years.

Professor Syed Naquib is famous for his "adab".  Adab this, adab that.

It would be interesting to know exactly what type of adab he used to determine that 'Umur manusia 7,000 - 8,000 tahun'.
