Three family members killed in fire in Taiping
TAIPING: A mother and her two children have perished in a fire at Kampung Sungai Relong, Kamunting, near here.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they found the bodies during the firefighting operation at about 1.35am on Tuesday (March 24).
The deceased have been identified as Jazmaniza Man, 35, Mohd Anaz Rizki Mokhd Khairul, four and Nur Aulia Medina Mohd Khairul, three.
"We tried to rescue the victims during the operation.
"The fire had already engulfed a large portion of the house when we got there," he said in a statement.
The spokesman said Jazmaniza's husband Mohd Khairul Ismail, 38, was badly burnt on his hands and her eldest son also suffered some burns on his hand.
He said the woman's 33-year-old brother Jamal Azman also suffered light injuries.
"They have all been sent to the nearest hospital," he said, adding that the operation ended at 4.40am. - Star
