After recovery, Patient 33 hands over RM150k to Covid-19 victims

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | UDA Holdings Berhad board member Rosli Dahlan - also known as Patient 33 - has handed over RM150,000 to a government fund to provide relief for families affected by Covid-19 infections.
Receiving a mock cheque on behalf of the government, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said he is proud that Rosli is chipping in to help other patients.
“I am proud that a former Covid-19 patient, who is confirmed by the Health Ministry to have recovered now, takes on a role to help victims of the epidemic.
“He, who is also a Nama Foundation trustee, met me to personally hand over a contribution of RM150,000 from the foundation…
“If the whole world can unite to fight Covid-19, I hope Malaysians can do it too,” Muhyiddin said in a Facebook posting last night.
Rosli, along with Khazanah Nasional executive director Hisham Hamdan (Patient 26), are some of the earliest people hit with the coronavirus that has infected at least 114 people.
Muhyiddin noted that several of UDA’s top management have been affected by the outbreak and had to be admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
The company went on to upgrade the wards of several hospitals in anticipation of an uptick in new Covid-19 cases in mid-April, and some of UDA’s staff who had been infected are even donating their blood to help find a cure for the disease.
“If the project is successful, they will be saviours,” Muhyiddin said.
The Covid-19 Fund was set up on March 11 to collect donations for those who have lost their income or were affected financially by the coronavirus infection.
As of April 3, it was reported RM19.52 million has been raised through the fund. - Mkini
