After minister's private jet ride, Mujahid relates his more humble trip

 

Former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa related that he only took a commercial flight when travelling from Jeddah to Riyadh during his official trip to Saudi Arabia in January last year.

This was after a video of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri travelling on a private jet with a large entourage from Riyadh to Medina during an official trip to Saudi Arabia went viral on social media.

Zulkifli (above) had explained that the trip was fully sponsored due to the cordial relationship between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

Mujahid, in a Twitter post, congratulated Zulkifli on getting the sponsorship.

He said his entourage to Saudi Arabia last year only comprised four people.

"I only took a commercial flight from Jeddah to Riyadh. There were no big delegations.

"It was only with the Tabung Haji chairperson and two of my officers," Mujahid added.

Zulkifli arrived in Riyadh on April 10 before departing to Medina yesterday.

According to a press release on April 9, the working visit covers bilateral talks on the haj and umrah pilgrimages, as well as meetings on regional and international issues regarding Islamic affairs.

It said that the visit would be in full compliance with Covid-19 SOPs by the Saudi government.

Zulkifli completed his vaccination for Covid-19 on March 19.  - Mkini
