Police record statement from factory manager following ‘pink bracelet’ video
MELAKA: Police have recorded a statement from the management of a factory at the Ayer Keroh industrial area after a video showing several men wearing pink bracelets went viral.
According to Melaka Tengah district police chief Afzanizar Ahmad, the video showed several men, believed to be foreigners, coming out of their homes to buy groceries at Taman Ayer Keroh Heights here.
He said police recorded a statement from the human resources manager of the factory after a report was received at about 1.50pm yesterday.
An initial investigation found that the men were workers at the factory and had only recently been ordered to wear the pink bracelets, he said in a statement.
They were being sent back to their hostels to undergo quarantine.
Afzanizar said the case was being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (Movement Control) Regulations 2021. - FMT
