Nothing Phone 2 has an official launch date
Nothing's next smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2, is coming on July 11.
The company shared the launch date, along with a short teaser for the new device, on Twitter.

The teaser doesn't show very much, mind you. It's a ten-second video featuring the phone's Glyph light panel on the back, similar to the one seen on Nothing Phone 1. A tentacle also appears in the video for undisclosed reasons.
"Come to the bright side," Nothing wrote in the tweet. The launch will be streamed on Nothing's website at 11 a.m. ET, on July 11.
Nothing Phone 1 was a mid-ranger with cool looks and a couple of cool features, such as the light-based interface on the semi-transparent back. Unfortunately, the Nothing Phone 1 never made it to American shores.
Its successor, the Nothing Phone 2, will be available in the U.S., as revealed by company CEO Carl Pei. According to Pei, the new phone will be "more premium" than the first one, with software being a "big focus" for the company.
Pei also recently revealed that the Nothing Phone 2 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is an upgrade from Nothing Phone 1 but still not as powerful as Qualcomm's current flagship smartphone chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This likely means that Nothing Phone 2 will once again be slightly less powerful but also significantly cheaper than other flagships (for comparison, Nothing Phone 1 starts at €469 or $506).
