CIMB: Malaysian market volatility to remain low as Asia seeks ECB cue

KUALA LUMPUR (June 14): Focus in Asia is increasingly shifting to Europe from the U.S., where political concerns pose a challenge to the ECB’s plan to conclude its asset-purchase program, says Ray Choy, head treasury strategist at CIMB Bank in Kuala Lumpur.

* Asia’s fundamentals remain sound despite the recent volatility in EM that was fueled by seasonal summer selling and developments in Turkey. In the region, CIMB expects volatility in Malaysian markets to remain low and it’s watching Thailand for a possible shift to a more hawkish policy
