My comments : Here is my advice. The Chinese vote is now intact but most of the Chinese vote goes to the DAP - quite intact.

The DAP has been very successful because the MCA chose to remain with the BN and UMNO. In other words, MCA's wrong strategy has benefitted the DAP.

If the MCA splits from the BN / UMNO / PAS, then MCA will certainly attract the Chinese votes from the DAP. MCA can split the Chinese vote.

If the MCA splits from UMNO / BN / PAS then the DAP will no longer monopolise the Chinese vote.

This will mean two things - both the DAP and the MCA will be 'courted' by ALL other political parties including Pakatan Harapan, PKR, PAS etc just to get the Chinese votes again.

Minus the BN, UMNO and PAS, the DAP may team up with the MCA.

Minus BN, UMNO and PAS there will be a more common platform between the DAP and MCA. What is there to fight about?

The country can move even closer to the middle. My advice to the MCA - sever ALL ties to UMNO / BN / PAS yesterday. Do it now. Do it immediately.
