YOU ARE A LIAR & A NONSENSE-TALKER, MASZLEE: SABAH DCM FURIOUS AT EDUCATION MINISTER’S WARNING USING ENGLISH TO TEACH IN STATE’S NATIONAL SCHOOLS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL CONSTITUTION

KINABATANGAN – Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Madius Tangau has questioned the education ministry’s parliamentary reply which warned that the use of English as a medium of instruction in Sabah and Sarawak national schools was a violation of the Federal Constitution.

Madius Tangau said the ministry’s stand was against the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

He said among the 20 points in MA63 was that English could be used as an official language for the administration as well as the education system in the state.

“That is why we do not accept the stand of the ministry (on this matter). We urge the national leadership that when it comes to Sabah, the state’s position must be maintained as per MA63,” he said.

Madius, who is also Upko acting president, said the party would adopt a resolution on this at its forum on MA63 in Kota Kinabalu tomorrow.
