My comments : The T56 assault rifle is the Chinese version of the AK47. This weapon is very common throughout the world. The Sri Lanka army also uses the same weapon.
T56 or Chinese AK47.
Killinochi was the capital of the LTTE up to January 2009.
The Sri Lanka police found this small arsenal just from one man. The LTTE usually buys weapons by the shiploads. There must be more of these weapons I am sure.
Where exactly they bought these weapons and from who can say a lot about which country is supporting the LTTE now.
It appears that the fighting will start again in Sri Lanka. The simple reason being the problems were not really solved. In 2009, to safeguard their investments the Chinese unloaded tanks, weapons and advisors in Sri Lanka and helped wipe out the LTTE fighters and killed their leader Prabhakaran.
Obviously the Tamil struggle has not been eradicated.
Hence this weapons cache above.
It has taken 10 years for the LTTE to reorganise but it looks like they are back.
I suspect there is also a new player - the Modi government in India which is big on "Hindu nationalism". This can complicate things for 'Buddhist majority - Tamil Hindu minority' Sri Lanka.
They should have more mamak nasi kandar restaurants in Sri Lanka. You know so that everyone can sit in peace and have a 'teh' tarik, murtabak or some delicious nasi kandar.
There is nothing like good food to appreciate the peace.
Everyone can eat and drink together.
