PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a 61-year-old man who is believed to have acted aggressively on the road here.
Petaling Jaya Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police had earlier received a report on a road bullying incident from a 22-year-old student on Thursday (March 5).
"It is learnt that a disagreement had occurred as the drivers were switching lanes on Jalan Teknologi, Section 6, Kota Damansara," he said.
In a video that has since gone viral, the other driver is seen alighting from his vehicle to confront the student, and had punched and spat on the student's window.
Police arrested the suspect around 7pm on Friday (March 6) and he is expected to be remanded on Saturday (March 7) to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage.
In a separate incident, police have recorded statements from two men involved in another road altercation on the Kesas Highway near Kota Kemuning.
Shah Alam deputy OCPD Supt Ramsay Anak Embol said the incident happened around 8pm on Wednesday (March 4) and a video of the incident had also been widely spread on social media.
In the video, a man is seen kicking the door of a stationary car with the driver inside.
"The parties have since lodged reports on the incident which we are now investigating under Section 506 of the Penal Code. Both of them have been called up to get their statements recorded," he said.
Section 506 of the Penal Code relates to criminal intimidation.
Supt Ramsay also advised the public to stop speculating and sharing the videos as doing so could disrupt investigations. - Star
