BTS’ V Wins ‘Ultimate Asian Heartthrob’ Award for Third Year in a Row
BTS member V has been named the “Ultimate Asian Heartthrob” for the third consecutive year by entertainment blog Starmometer, effectively inducting the K-pop star in its “Hall of Fame.”
V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, emerged victorious after securing the highest number of votes from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Starmometer’s online poll.

The annual contest begins with a roster of 100 Asian men and narrows them down through a series of voting levels.
V faced notable opponents such as Ken Suson of Filipino K-pop group SB19 (Level 1), singer-actor Xiao Zhan from China (Level 2), and Thai member BamBam of K-Pop group GOT7 (Level 3).
In the final level, V bested NCT member Jaehyun, Filipino actor Alden Richards, Trinity member Porsche, and fellow BTS members Jimin, Jin and Jungkook.
From a total of 18,730,855 votes, V took 7,180,481 votes to secure first place, followed by Jungkook (6,492,222), Jin (2,945,148), Jimin (1,693,282), Porsche (195,438), Alden Richards (137,680) and Jaehyun (86,604).
Interestingly, this marks the first time in three years that BTS members occupied the first, second and third highest spots in the contest, according to Starmometer. This is also the first time that all seven members made it to the list.
V released his first full solo track outside of BTS, “Scenery,” on Jan. 30, 2019 as a gift for ARMY. Last month, he released his first solo soundtrack “Sweet Night,” which debuted on top of the U.S. iTunes.
