Legendary Cellist Yo-Yo Ma Crashes Zoom Class Like a Boss
Asian American musician and humanitarian Yo-Yo Ma had apparently crashed a Zoom class last month that totally shocked the students.
The 64-year-old cellist appeared in a Zoom meeting for a chamber masterclass at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee on April 25, according to the recorded clip from Facebook user Sara Nichols, who posted on the Facebook group Zoom Memes for Self Quaranteens.
Ma, who has won a Grammy Award 18 times, left Nichols in disbelief as apparent in the caption on her video.
“He’s a figment of our imagination, Yo-Yo ma is not real,” she wrote.
Ma is a member of the Chinese American organization called Committee of 100 (C100) that recently raised $1 million to help at least 30 hospitals by purchasing medical supplies to battle the COVID-19 pandemic across the U.S.
