Markets in Selangor to reopen in stages from June 15
SHAH ALAM: Morning markets, open markets, night markets and bazaars in Selangor will be allowed to reopen in stages beginning June 15, says Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
He said the National Security Council’s (NSC) standard operating procedures (SOPs) would be used as a reference in the implementation and enforcement of operations for all markets, coordinated by local authorities who would adjust the SOPs for individual areas.
He said music and art classes, as well as hiking activities of up to three persons in a group, are also allowed as long as social distancing is observed.
“Any form of activity in Selangor, whether economic, social or recreational, must comply with the SOPs set by the NSC.
“The state government will not hesitate to close premises or areas deemed risky in the event that any party fails to comply with the SOPs,” he said in a statement today.
He also reminded all parties to scan the QR codes with the Selangkah system before entering any premises, in addition to wearing face masks and maintaining personal hygiene through regular hand washing. -FMT
