YOURSAY | Party frogs now dress themselves up as nation’s saviours
YOURSAY | ‘Strangely, all the kleptocratic parties now bandied together purportedly to save Malaysia.’
Kim Quek: The hollow rhetoric of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) party secretary-generals, filled with false assertions, have only once again confirmed that the PN government is nothing but an ad hoc grouping of diverse power-seekers, each with its own secret ambition to grab as much power as possible during this transient cohabitation.
Their lack of common political objective is demonstrated in their failure to come up with a manifesto until now, which stands in stark contrast to Pakatan Harapan whose crystal-clear vision for the nation had moved the people to entrust them to take over the rein of the country.
Needless to say, when the crunch comes, this ragtag coalition of opportunists will implode.
Kita Orangbiasa: “The current PN government was formed due to the need to save Malaysia from the damage caused by the previous Pakatan Harapan administration,” said BN secretary-general Annuar Musa.
Annuar, this is silly. At least nine ministers/deputy ministers in the PN cabinet were also in the previous Harapan cabinet, including current Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Senior Minister Azmin Ali.
Are you saying that your cabinet colleagues were incompetent under Harapan resulting in the so-called damage, but suddenly under PN, they are worthy of cabinet posts?
Gerard Lourdesamy: So, the choice of the voters does not matter? Instead the politicians alone can determine who forms the government motivated by their personal self-interests and their greed for power and position? Is that democracy?
It is obvious that Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin was the Umno Trojan horse. His role was to destroy Harapan from within so that the losers in GE14 could return to power.
Traitors can never be accepted as saviours of the nation. If PN is confident of the overwhelming support of the voters, they should call for a snap general election at the earliest rather than try to justify their unprincipled power grab. Let the voters decide which coalition they prefer.
FairMalaysian: The most important resolve should be to save the country from these thieves and frogs.
Sometimes it is hilarious to hear the twisted arguments being forwarded to legitimise their horrendous acts. How would one be a saviour when you betray the trust of the people? Only retards will believe that.
It is not that difficult to know where they are heading to with this PN thing. MCA and MIC are merely hanging on to the sinking straws. They cannot survive on their own and will not be accepted by the opposition parties. So, they have to swim or sink with the fortunes of PN.
They have become such a liability that they may not get the seats they contested before 2018. Come the next GE, it will be the death knell for both parties.
Bersatu's initial plan, hoping that Umno MPs will drive in droves to their camp, was a cropper. Now, they are being offered a lifeline by Muafakat Nasional to join them. Devoid of bargaining power, its future hangs in the balance but it is conceivable that Bersatu may be forced into oblivion.
The interesting phase starts with Bersatu joining Muafakat. I am waiting to see the fun.
Newday: What was the damage inflicted by Harapan? It is still a mystery to me.
Stopping behind-closed-doors contract-letting to bumiputera-fronted companies with pricing two to four times above their actual value? Making the public service accountable?
Exposing the long-term self-enriching fraud within Tabung Haj, Felda, Felcra and Mara, with the small matter of RM4 billion disappearing from civil servants’ pension fund KWAP and the RM40 billion sovereign wealth fund 1MDB?
Indeed, why change the fake rhetoric when you have come this far with it? When you are on a good (bad) thing, stick to it.
I suppose it is a waste of time to think they would discuss the long-term damage they caused before Harapan took over and that all Harapan could do in their limited time in power was damage control.
The convicted one twice appearing in this election campaign put paid to that. This lot still are reinforcing that the now opposition is full of jealousy and envy. This provides the opportunity to pluck on the sneering emotions of those in the crowd.
MCA secretary-general Chong Sin Woon presented the fake truth of Malaysia has gone to greater heights, yet does not back it up with any truths. The unremitting outflow of foreign investors from Bursa Malaysia mean anything to you?
Moonwalker: Nothing these so-called united parties of BN/PAS/Bersatu say has an ounce of truthfulness and sincerity.
I rather park my hopes with Harapan. They only have two years to undo the mistakes of the past 60 years. What do you expect?
Before they are even given a chance, the betrayal by Azmin Ali and Muhyiddin Yassin destroyed the very basic foundation Harapan was just establishing.
Our nation will not progress in the current backdoor government hands. They will just go back to corruption and self-interest agendas which they are used to.
Hopefully, the people in Slim area can see through this and will vote them out in this Saturday’s by-election. Teach them a lesson.
Malaysia Bharu: Going by Hamzah's rationale, all those elected and given the mandate by the people to save Malaysia from the kleptocracy are traitors and losers, and those frogs like him who betrayed the people's trust and defected from Harapan to link up with the remnants of the kleptocracy are winners and saviours?
It is precisely this kind of brainwashing of idiocy and lies to hoodwink the gullible rural Malays for votes that have retarded their progress over the last half a century and consigned them in the B40 (bottom 40 percent) category.
Isn't it time the more enlightened and progressive Malays rejected this kind of gutter politics from their kind and send these self-serving leeches out of the political scene once and for all?
GoldenPhoenix2391: Yes, what we have here is another load of nonsense from the minions of the backdoor government.
Their self-adulation is almost comical if not because the nation is facing dire straits which these shameless men are badly equipped to face and navigate through.
In future history books, they will be judged unflatteringly as idiotic traitors to the nation.
Kunta Kinte: In GE14, Malaysians from all walk of lives united to get rid of the kleptocratic government to save Malaysia. Strangely, now all the kleptocratic parties bandied together purportedly to save Malaysia.
Surely, they are trying hard to save some Malaysians but definitely not you and me as we are definitely not going to get support letters, appointed to juicy government-linked company (GLC) posts or get a slap in the wrist for violating the movement control order (MCO). - Mkini
