7 cars damaged after scaffolding falls from crane

PETALING JAYA: Seven cars parked near a block of flats were damaged when a piece of iron scaffolding fell from a crane at a nearby construction site in Pudu today.

In a statement, the fire department said the Kuala Lumpur Operations Centre received an emergency call at 9.53am, which prompted them to send a seven strong emergency medical rescue services team and one Fire Rescue Tender machine.

When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, it was found that an iron scaffolding plate had fallen while being hoisted by a crane, affecting some cars parked next to the construction site.

No victims were involved, and the operation came to an end less than an hour after the initial call at 10.50am.

The vehicles involved included two Proton Sagas, a Proton Wira, a Mitsubishi Pajero, a Proton Iriz, a Perodua Myvi and a Honda City. - FMT
