SOP violation: 'No one will be spared, not even my son' - Ismail Sabri
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today assures that no one will be spared from action for violating rules under the movement control order (MCO).
Not even his son.
This comes after a singing reality programme that features numerous celebrity judges, including his son Dafi (Gaddafi Ismail Sabri), came under criticism for allegedly not adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
"The National Security Council (NSC) is investigating. No one is above the law.
"Action will be taken against anyone who violates SOP, no matter who they are. Even if that person is my son," Ismail Sabri (above) told Malaysiakini in a text message this morning.
'All Together Now Malaysia', a reality programme by Astro, came under fire recently after 50 judges were featured being in the same venue without wearing face masks.
Astro had since suspended the programme hosted by Sherry Al Haddad, following an investigation into alleged violations of SOPs by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM).
Astro vice-president of content development strategy (Malay entertainment), Raqim Ahmad, said the fate of the programme will be known after the investigation is completed.
"The recording of 'All Together Now Malaysia' was done in March in Putrajaya before the implementation of the MCO 3.0.
“The production conducted swab tests on all participating individuals before recording began.
"Only individuals with negative status are allowed to continue recording," he said in a statement.
Raqim said the multi-storey set housing the celebrities was built according to the physical specifications of 1.6 metres between the jury, with each one separated by a transparent barrier.
He added that the recording process of the programme was monitored by the authorities, including representatives of security agencies.
Since the first episode of 'All Together Now Malaysia' aired last Sunday, netizens claimed that there was a violation of the SOP due to celebrities not wearing face masks.
Earlier, it was reported that NSC director-general Mohd Rabin Basir had ordered an investigation into an entertainment programme published by a private broadcasting company for allegedly violating the SOP.
Mohd Rabin was reported to have said that KKMM would take appropriate action if it identified a violation of the SOP as alleged. - Mkini
