Russia's New Stealth Jet "Checkmate" Better And Cheaper Than American F35. RMAF Should Consider Buying.
The Checkmate was revealed yesterday in Russia. It is a single engined 5th generation stealth fighter. It is 77 feet long and can carry just over eight tonnes of ordinance at Mach 2+. The price tag is said to be far cheaper than the US F35.
This is something that Malaysia should look at. We really do not need it for defense - it is unlikely that we will be bombed by Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines or China. But it can certainly increase the technological profile of the country's defenses. We can be at par with others.
