I had to manage Amanah-DAP quarrels daily, claims ex-Perak MB
AYER KEROH: Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman Ahmad Faizal Azumu claims that he had to “manage” quarrels daily when he led the Perak Pakatan Harapan government as menteri besar.
In a live-streamed ceramah for the Melaka polls tonight, the Bersatu deputy president claimed DAP and Amanah were always fighting for their own interests.
He also claimed the two parties were working behind the other’s backs and used each other for their personal interests.
“When I became menteri besar … every day, my job was to either quarrel or manage quarrels at meetings.
“Every Wednesday, we had exco meetings. For that one meeting, I had to hold three to four other meetings. Why? Because I had to reach a consensus with others to avoid arguments,” said the Tambun MP.
Faizal said there was one instance before the 14th general election where Perak PH came up with a manifesto which a certain DAP leader then offered to help print out.
This leader then added several other matters into the manifesto, he claimed.
He also claimed there were instances when he was approached by DAP leaders who asked him to implement things without telling Amanah leaders or exco members.
“Amanah was the same too. They would say, ‘MB Peja (Faizal’s nickname), do these one or two things first, don’t tell them’. I said how can I do that, I have to bring this to the exco meeting.
“That’s their attitude. They make use of each other for their own personal interests, not even for the party’s. So, it was very concerning and worrying when I saw that a state election was going to happen in Melaka.”
Faizal urged Melakans to vote for PN in the state polls, maintaining that the Muhyiddin Yassin-led coalition wanted to look after the people’s welfare and for the nation to be held in high esteem on the global stage again. - FMT
