PETALING JAYA: Lim Guan Eng (pic) says that Pakatan Harapan fully supports the leadership of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, amid speculation about a vote of no-confidence against the Prime Minister.
"Pakatan as a whole gives full support to the leadership of the Prime Minister, and denies all the allegations that assume the opposite," said the DAP secretary-general.
He said there was neither a single Pakatan component party nor any leader who would cast a vote of no-confidence against Dr Mahathir.
In a statement on Monday (Feb 18), Lim claimed that the opposition against Dr Mahathir's leadership came from PAS.
He also dismissed PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan's claim that there were efforts by "two Pakatan Harapan component parties" to push for a motion of no-confidence against the Prime Minister.
Lim said Takiyuddin should show proof of his claim and not use the issue to divert public attention from another allegation about Umno funds making its way to PAS leaders.
Lim, who is also Finance Minister and Bagan MP, said PAS should answer the earlier issue first, which appeared to be validated when the Islamist party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang settled his lawsuit against Sarawak Report without asking them to delete the article online where it first appeared.
Earlier, social activist and blogger Mujahidin Zulkiffli alleged that a plot was being hatched from within Pakatan to oust the Prime Minister via a vote of no-confidence.-Star
