'Buy Muslim First' campaign drastically reduced prices of goods - PAS MP

Che Abdullah Mat Nawi (PAS-Tumpat) has claimed that the "Buy Muslim First” (BMF) campaign has led to a drastic reduction in the price of goods.
Che Abdullah (above), while debating the government's budget for next year, said the results would justify the government to take up the campaign spearheaded by Muslim NGOs.
"While the government is facing problems in reducing the prices of goods, suddenly the BMF campaign, without the need of government allocation or machinery, was able to drastically reduce the price of goods, particularly basic necessities," he claimed.
Che Abdullah claimed that BMF had been more effective in reducing the prices of goods compared to the replacement of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) with the Sales and Service Tax (SST).

He also defended the BMF campaign, stating that it is in response to those who "taint food, do not follow halal rules, let the food to be exposed to dogs, put pig blood in laksa and sell chicken not slaughtered the halal way".
"Seeing that this spontaneous programme by the people has brought good, I propose that the BMF campaign is included as part of the (government's) ‘Buy Malaysian Goods' campaign," he said.
He also criticised those who have questioned the BMF campaign.
"It is unfortunate that we have leaders who are trying to stop people from getting clean food.
"They should instead take action against the traitors," he said. - Mkini
