Should Taxpayer's Money Be Used By Govt To Give SIA A Financial Boost?
It was reported that SIA needed a financial boost from the Government. If it ever goes through, that will mean injecting taxpayer's funds.
Before we even cross that, SIA should be transparent on its operating cost. SIA does not disclose its daily burn rate, which is odd, unlike other airlines.
To ask for a financial boost from the Government, while being opaque on its financial matters is taking the people of Singapore for granted.
We are not going to be like America where its Government released billions of taxpayer monies in a bailout during hard times, only to find out these organizations mishandled public funds to line their executives' pocket.
If really needed, disbursed it as a loan. And for good measure, interest free.
