Asian American Organizations Team Up on Easter to Support NY Firefighters and Paramedics
The Forest Hills Asian Association (FHAA), Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and the FDNY Phoenix Society teamed up on Easter Sunday, April 12, to give back to the FDNY EMS first responders in Queens.
Headed by FHAA President Edwin Eddie Wong, the event was dedicated in memory of his parents Thomas D. Wong who passed away on March 30 and Winnie C. Wong who passed in December. He asked for donations to be made in their memory to the FDNY EMS Help Fund.
FDNY Phoenix Society and leadership team members David Lin and David Mark, and Christina Seid of The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory 華埠雪糕行 partnered with Wong to make the occasion happen.
The event aimed to serve four purposes: a dedication to Wong’s parents, support for small business, highlighting Asian American first responders and FDNY Phoenix Society members who are also a part of the FDNY EMS, and celebrate the holiday for those who are Christian or Catholic but required to work that day.
