Cops probing ‘Hannah Yeoh’ over ‘fake’ Facebook post

Malaysiakini

The police are probing the owner of a "Hannah Yeoh" Facebook account under the Sedition Act for allegedly producing a seditious and inflammatory post.
However, former deputy women, family and community development minister Hannah Yeoh (above) reiterated that the post, attributed to her, is fake.
“That is insane. It is a fake quote,” she was quoted as saying by the Malay Mail.
This is not the first time Yeoh dismissed the post.
On March 11, she had stressed that the same inflammatory post is fake.
"Cybertroopers working overtime nowadays. This is a fake statement. Please stop the slander," her caption reads.

In a statement today, Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Huzir Mohamed said that Yeoh is being probed under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Section 505(c) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
"The police will call the owner of the 'Hannah Yeoh' Facebook account to explain the statement which went viral on Facebook as it has the tendency to be seditious and could disrupt harmony," he said.
Yesterday, Yeoh tweeted that she would be probed over a tweet inquiring about the fate of the National Strategic Plan to Address the Causes of Underage Marriage under her successor Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff.
The police had then confirmed the probe, saying that she would be investigated under Section 505(c) and Section 233.
Meanwhile, the police also said that they are probing activist Siti Kasim over her Facebook post on the banning of alcoholic drinks and tahfiz schools.
The excerpt from her post reads: "You want to ban alcohol just because it suits you? Then ban tahfiz schools too for causing much damage to our innocent children. Get it PIS (sic)?"
There were 113 police reports lodged against her nationwide.
Siti is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. - Mkini
