300 Drones Light Up Seoul to Honor Frontliners, Remind South Koreans to Wear Masks

South Korea lit up the sky with an elaborate drone light show to celebrate the frontliners and remind its citizens to wash hands and wear masks.

On Saturday, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport flew a total of 300 drones over the Han River in Seoul for the 10-minute show, reports Agence France-Presse.

A video of the light show with the title “Thanks & Hope” can be found below:

The government held the stunning show to recognize the hard work and sacrifice of the frontline medical staff and also remind the public to continue practicing safety measures against COVID-19.

The drone light show began with messages that advise people to wear masks, wash hands and observe social distancing protocols. Then came the messages of appreciation for doctors, nurses and other members of the medical force. The message then ended with a morale-boosting, “Cheer up, Republic of Korea,” along with an outline of the Korean Peninsula.

South Korea has impressed the rest of the world in managing to flatten the epidemic curve quickly without having to close businesses.

Despite the country’s success in combating the virus, government agencies are not letting up in protecting its citizens as experts have warned of a second wave of infections.
