Individuals entering Sarawak via Sabah must take Covid-19 test - Uggah
Effective Monday, Malaysian citizens and non-citizen residents who wish to enter Sarawak via Sabah will be required to take the Covid-19 (RT-PCR) test three days before embarking on their trip to the state.
Deputy Chief Minister I cum chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, Douglas Uggah Embas said they would also be required to fill out the ‘EnterSarawak’ form online, along with the requested supporting document/s.
He said as for Malaysian citizens arriving from Penang, there will be a random testing for Covid-19 awaiting them at the Kuching Airport.
“For Sarawakians returning from overseas, they will be quarantined at their First Point of Entry in Sarawak,” he told a press conference at the Old State Assembly Building here today.
Meanwhile, Uggah said Sarawakians who need to commute daily to Brunei and Sabah for work purposes will have to have a special letter from the District Disaster Management Committee in Miri or Limbang.
“They (commuting workers) will also be required to take the Covid-19 test once every two weeks while complying with the standard operating procedures set by the Ministry of Health,” he said.
