Another LRT worker tests positive
PETALING JAYA: A worker at the Bandaraya LRT station tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently being treated at Hospital Sungai Buloh, says Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.
The employee was last on duty on Dec 19 and has been absent since then.
“Based on our investigation, the case happened within a closed area and the station officer had no contact with passengers while on duty," said Prasarana in a statement Saturday (Dec 26).
It said management has taken further actions by disinfecting the employee’s workstation in accordance with Health Ministry guidelines.
“Other employees who had close contact with the station officer were also instructed to undergo screening tests and 14-day self quarantine as prescribed by the ministry, ” it added.
Prasarana reassured customers that its trains are always disinfected daily during peak hours and post operations at the end of the day.
“Prasarana’s management and staff, particularly in Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus, have been trained to practise the highest standards and protocols for Covid-19 hygiene and sanitation, ” it added.
The public is also advised to always follow the standard operating procedures while using Rapid Rail services.
On Dec 16, two employees working on the Kelana Jaya line also tested positive for Covid-19. - Star
