China’s ambassador under quarantine, as per SOP
PETALING JAYA: China’s latest ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing (pic), has been observing home quarantine after arriving in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 20.
In a video blog posted on the “China Embassy in Malaysia” Facebook page Friday (Dec 25), Ouyang said he has been under home quarantine for five days, with two more days remaining before the quarantine is lifted.
“During these days, I stayed in the residence without going anywhere. I read books and newspapers, practised calligraphy, sometimes took a stroll or brisk-walked in the residence mainly to keep myself physically and mentally healthy.
“When reading newspapers, the topic I pay most attention to is the Covid-19 outbreak, ” he said, with a copy of The Star newspaper on his desk.
He expressed hope for the pandemic to be over and that people would be able to resume their normal lives as soon as possible.- Star
