Cops nab traditional healer, YouTuber over separate outrage of modesty cases

 

KOTA BARU: Police have detained an alternative medicine practitioner and a YouTuber on suspicion of committing outrage of modesty.

Kota Baru police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Daud said the 32-year-old healer was detained at his home in Kampung Bechah Mulong here Thursday morning.

He said the suspect was arrested after police received a report from a 43-year-old victim, who is a teacher.

"In her report, the victim claimed that the incident happened while she was receiving treatment at the suspect's office in Tunjong about 2.30pm on Nov 6.

"She was traumatised by the act and only revealed the incident to her husband recently before lodging a police report on Dec 1," he said in a statement.

He said the suspect was remanded for four days to assist police investigation into the case.

In a second incident, Abdul Rahim said police arrested the 22-year-old YouTuber after he surrendered himself at the district police station.

"The suspect was detained following a report lodged by a 24-year-old woman last Friday.

"The woman claimed that she was molested by the suspect while shooting a video for the suspect's channel.

"The incident allegedly happened at a homestay in Kubang Kerian on Aug 1," he said.

He said police would obtain a remand order against the suspect, who is also a film producer today (Friday). - NST
