Zahid calls for Parliament to reconvene after royal audience
Meetings between the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and political party leaders at the Istana Negara entered the third day today.
Those expected to meet Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah today include representatives from Umno, MIC, and Sabah's PBS.
This is expected to be the last day for in-person meetings, with leaders from Sarawak's GPS to have their audience on Monday online instead.

11.40am: MIC president SA Vigneswaran was next in line to meet the King.
He arrived in a white Mercedes Benz at about 10.46am and left at about 11.38am.
He did not stop to speak with the media.
Zahid calls for Parliament to reconvene
11am: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi exits the palace after meeting the King for about an hour.
He then addresses the media from his Toyota Vellfire.
"Umno's stance is that Parliament should reconvene.
"This is to ensure the country's democratic system is defended and there exist checks and balances in all aspects of administration," he says.
Asked about the National Operations Council (NOC) proposed by Mahathir, Zahid says he did not discuss the matter with the King.
He adds that he believes the current state of emergency is supposed to cover any matters that an NOC could potentially address.

He waves and smiles at the media waiting outside the palace gates as he passed by.
Today's meetings with the king follow a day of intrigue after Dr Mahathir Mohamad suggested to the monarch that a National Operations Council (NOC) government similar to the one in 1969 be formed.
The move has met opposition from Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's inner circle, Pakatan Harapan, and some Umno leaders.
Last night, PKR issued a vague statement claiming certain political leaders were approaching MPs for endorsement in the form of statutory declarations.
PKR alleged that these leaders claim to have the ‘blessings’ of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
This followed allegations that Umno's Hishammuddin Hussein was aiming to take over as prime minister with Bersatu's Azmin Ali as his deputy.
Hishammuddin has dismissed the speculation as rumours.
Hishammuddin is opposed to the faction of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has been cosying up to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
The king will also convene a Conference of Rulers meeting next week. - Mkini
