Fully vaccinated adults now 89.7%, just 0.3% short of target
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 21,003,074 individuals or 89.7% of the adult population in the country have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday, just 0.3% short of the targeted 90%.
Based on health ministry data on the Covidnow portal which was updated at 5.35am today, 94.7% or 22,176,018 of adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 83,443 doses of the vaccine were dispensed yesterday, with 8,236 as the first dose and 75,207 the second dose, bringing the total number of vaccines administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 43,067,793.
As for the adolescents aged 12 to 17, 6.5% of them have been fully vaccinated and 71.5% have received at least one dose. The number of unvaccinated in this category remains at 28.5%.
As for the total population, 64.9% have been fully vaccinated, 74.8% have received at least one dose while 25.2% remain unvaccinated.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has said interstate travel would resume when 90% of the adult population nationwide have been fully vaccinated. - FMT
