Liverpool propose special Anfield walkway, full of fan tributes
This sounds like a great idea, to us.
Work on the new Main Stand is making good progress, and next season 54,000 will be able to watch the Reds during home games. The club now want to make the entrance to the ground a better experience as well – and have submitted planning application to include a walkway which would include hundreds of tiles full of fan tributes.
The walkway would be in the New Main stand’s ‘public realm’, which is being created to ‘reconnect the stadium to nearby Stanley Park and the local community’, according to the official website.
Anything for us that includes fans in the football club is brilliant, for us. We’re not sure how a supporter would get his or her message on the granite tiles yet, but we’ll make sure we submit our application whenever the club release details!
Liverpool are also including legendary quotes on the home and away kits now, in another slight tweak which pays homage to our history.
Thanking the fans and giving them something they could potentially see every time they come to Anfield as well is great.
Below, you’ll see another one of the mocked up designs.
