Malaysia remands company's director in Penang undersea tunnel probe

PUTRAJAYA (Jan 10): The Magistrate’s Court here today issued a six-day remand order on a senior executive director of Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd for investigation into alleged corruption in the construction of the Penang undersea tunnel project.

Magistrate Fatina Amyra Abdul Jalil issued the order against the 59-year-old director, who has the title “Datuk”, following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

He would be in remand until Jan 15.
