KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 23): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the strengthening of the ringgit signals positive sentiment among investors because the currency's appreciation is a recognition of Malaysia’s excellent economic and financial fundamentals.

Against such backdrop, Najib said Malaysia will never repeat the ringgit peg because investors and global markets hyad lost confidence in the country when the scheme was implemented. He said it took a long time for the nation to win the confidence of investors and global markets back.
