Japan ambassador to Malaysia says 'still have high hopes' for TPP, RCEP

KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): Japan's ambassador to Malaysia Makio Miyagawa said he still has "high hopes" to see the realisation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) because both trade schemes are important to Japan and Malaysia.

"I still have high hopes for (these) regional trade agreements. Between Japan and Malaysia, we have bilateral free trade agreements already, and now ASEAN plus six countries are negotiating the RCEP," Miyagawa said.
