Sacking of duo is illegal, says PKR veep Tian Chua

KLANG: The sacking of PKR Youth permanent chairman Muhamad Mizan Adli Mohd Nor and his deputy Mohd Ramly Ahmad from their positions is illegal, says party vice-president Tian Chua .
He said as the sacking was invalid, the two were still technically holding their posts.
“They were both elected during the national congress and only the national congress can sack them or remove them, ” said Tian Chua, who reiterated that the sacking was ultra vires and against the party constitution.
He described the action as “very immature”, which would further aggravate tensions in the party.
“First you go against the party constitution and withdraw the invitation to the party deputy president to open the youth and women’s conventions, and now you do this?” he asked.
However, PKR’s Kapar assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid backed the sacking of the duo.
“It is a rational move and the Youth wing has a good reason for the sacking, ’’ he added.
PKR Youth vice-chief Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus said he was shocked to hear about the impromptu removal of the two leaders.
He also queried as to why the alleged discrepancy in the number of voting delegates was only noticed one year after the duo were elected to the positions.
Mohd Nazree said the arbitrary move to remove Muhamad Mizan and Mohd Ramly from their positions would further fuel trouble within the party.
“This goes against reconciliatory measures initiated as well as the spirit of reformation, ’’ he said.- Star
