Muhyiddin’s Cabinet To Get Clearance From MACC, PDRM – Perlis Mufti
(Astro Awani) – The Cabinet to be announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin next week would only consist of those who were cleared by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
Muhyiddin told the Mufti of Perlis, Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, this in a meeting between them on Saturday.
Sharing the essence of the conversation at the Prime Minister’s residence, Dr Mohd Asri said that every potential candidate who would form Muhyiddin’s Cabinet was also asked to provide valid information on their academic certificates.
“What pleases me is that he (Muhyiddin) informed me that Insya-Allah the line-up of his Cabinet would be those who passed the MACC and PDRM screenings.
“I was also informed that he had asked everyone who would be a member of his Cabinet not to make any false claim about their academic certificates.
“Everyone should state their actual academic qualifications,” Dr Mohd Asri wrote on his personal Facebook page on Sunday.
During their meeting, Dr Mohd Asri also expressed the people’s current sentiment that they wanted a government made up of honest and efficient ministers.
The people also, said the Perlis Mufti, wanted the country to be governed by parties who do not oppose the fundamentals of the country, especially Islam, and do not make statements that fool the people.
“I told him, I believe if the cabinet members are among those who are clean from corruption and have quality, Insya-Allah that would be a strong argument for him.
“Trust in Allah and always seek His help,” Dr Mohd Asri wrote.
The people also, said Dr Mohd Asri, needed a peaceful life, a good economy and a comfortable environment.
At the same time, he openly expressed his support for a good government for the sake of religion and the country.
“I am with the rest of the ordinary people, ever ready to support and help.
“Thus, I am also willing to criticise the government if things go wrong,” Dr Mohd Asri added.
Muhyiddin, 72, was appointed the eighth prime minister on February 29 and took his oath before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah a day later.
Now the people look forward to the list of ministers to be announced by Muhyiddin next week.
