Sabah assistant minister latest to test positive for Covid-19

 

COVID-19 | Sabah Agriculture and Fisheries Assistant Minister Hendrus Anding tested positive for Covid-19, joining Deputy Chief Minister Jeffrey Kitingan and Bingkor assemblyperson Robert Tawik on the list of those infected. 

It was reported that the Tandek assemblyperson had been placed at the Kota Belud low-risk centre since Jan 5.

Hendrus said yesterday that he was under observation and showed no signs of the illness.

"I feel healthy, there is no treatment required for me,” the Parti Bersatu Sabah member told The Star.

Works Assistant Minister Robert is being treated at Keningau Hospital, while Star president Jeffrey has been at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital since Monday.

Star secretary-general Senator Guandee Koh Hoi said that both are in good and stable condition.

"I have spoken to Robert and he is in good condition. The president (Jeffrey) is also in good condition and in high spirits. He is expected to be released from the hospital next week," he told Harian Metro.

Last October, Chief Minister Hajiji Noor was also confirmed positive for Covid-19 and admitted into Queen Elizabeth Hospital for about two weeks before recovering.

Sabah has recorded 40,263 Covid-19 cases in total so far, making for roughly 30 percent of all cases in the country. - Mkini
