29 infants aged below one down with Covid-19 in Sabah
KOTA KINABALU: Twenty nine infants below the age of one were among the 2,430 Covid-19 cases recorded in the past 24 hours in Sabah.
The state’s official Covid-19 spokesperson, Masidi Manjun, also said some 200 cases involved children aged between one and five, while 466 cases involved six- to 17-year olds.
About 1,507 Covid-19 cases involved adults aged between 18 and 59, while 228 cases involved those above the age of 60.
Masidi, who is the housing and local government minister, went on to say that a little over half or 1,362 infections recorded today were detected from close contacts.
About 30.2% or 734 cases were detected after screening of symptomatic individuals, while 156 infections were detected from clusters.
A total of 42 patients were from Category 3 and above. The state also reported 38 casualties.
Masidi had said earlier that eateries would be allowed to set up tables outside their premises or on the sidewalk from tomorrow.
“As of Aug 31, Sabah has fully vaccinated over 40% of its adult population,” he said. - FMT
