Liow urges BN, Umno to take legal action over Selangor water sabotage allegations
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the opposition’s attempt to associate BN and Umno with the alleged sabotage was outrageous.
“Therefore, I suggest that BN and Umno take action against the Selangor state government.
“They should focus on solving the problem of water supply and water pollution instead of making wild allegations when they have failed to serve the people,” he said this after opening the Selangor MCA Convention 2016 at Wisma MCA, here, today.
Mohamed Azmin had reportedly said there was evidence showing the “tendency to sabotage” by BN and Umno in the Sungai Semenyih water pollution case to undermine the state government ahead of the coming general election.
Liow said the state which had experienced more than five times of water supply disruption within a month should resolve the issue and not point fingers and blame others.
He said that besides the water disruption problem, there were more issues involving the state government that frustrated the people such as the increase in quit rent, assessment rates and so on.
“Therefore, I urge the people of Selangor, especially the Chinese community to vote for BN in the coming general election and reject the opposition as they are only good at making promises but ultimately fail to deliver,” he said.
On Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s official visit to China, Liow who is also Transport Minister, said: “I am very happy to be joining the prime minister for this trip to China and confident that there will be many fruitful discussions between Malaysia and China, especially on economic growth.
“The visit will create more business opportunities between the two countries under China’s One Belt-One Road Initiative,” he said.
Liow also hoped that more flights would be made available between Malaysia and China as it would draw more tourists from China to the country.
The prime minister will be on an official visit to China from Oct 31 to Nov 6 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. — Bernama
