MCMC orders Raja Petra to remove Robert Kuok articles

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has instructed Raja Petra Kamaruddin to remove three articles regarding billionaire Robert Kuok.
According to a letter from the MCMC published on Malaysia Today, the articles had violated Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
The entries on Kuok had caused a massive stir after he accused the Hong Kong-based magnate of funding DAP in order to topple the ruling-BN government.
He also accused the 94-year-old tycoon of funding the news portal The Malaysian Insight.
The allegations have been denied by both Kuok and DAP, but not before several top Umno leaders including Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, and supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz had attacked the billionaire.
Nazri's attacks, in particular, have not sat well with ally MCA, who is demanding that he be sacked as tourism and culture minister.
Among others, the minister had challenged Kuok to contest in the coming general election and describedhim as being a “pondan” (effeminate) and a “coward”.
On Feb 16, the MCMC had ordered Raja Petra to remove an article regarding the wife of attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali.
The articles on Kuok have since been removed. -Mkini
