A tuition-free college education could soon become a reality for some residents in Virginia

Virginia families earning less than $80,000 per year will be able to send their children to the University of Virginia tuition-free, the school's new president, Jim Ryan, announced on Friday. State residents whose families earn less than $30,000 per year will be eligible for free room and board too.
